What does a PSW do?

Crisis work: Evaluation of situational and emotional trauma in order to reduce potential negative consequences of traumatic events in the lives of children and families, thus removing the barriers for learning.

Parent and family interventions: Providing community referrals and parent support for families.

Individual and group therapy: Offering children a supportive relationship in which they can learn new approaches to solving their problems.

Mental health education: Provides Socioemotional education to students, teachers and parents through workshops and school wide campaigns. Provides mental health consultation to staff members.
